I definitely get ideas from twitter, just not any real thinking. Twitter is more thought provoking than critical thinking. More questions and opinions than process.

I like this post a lot. One of the points I'd quibble with is the intersection of Twitter with critical thinking. While it can be difficult to think deeply in 140 characters or less, many of the people I follow on Twitter do give me things to think about, which I sometimes blog about, and then contribute back to Twitter.

mark, you are right from my stance - every forum has it's place. It's fundamentally a style issue to some extent, but certain mediums are only good for certain types of messages. I hope you enjoy blogging, I have since I first started. It does at time feel like a second job, but that's when you know you have been working at it, which i think is good.

I'm fairly new to blogging. I began to do so for several reasons -- none of which, I believe, could be replaced for me by lifestreaming.

You make a great point about blogging for giving some depth to ideas and discussion. If everything becomes short and sweet, bullet points and phrases, what have we accomplished?

Let's use all of them appropriately.
